Heavy Rain dev's new game Infraworld

Sony Computer Entertainment has filled a trademark for 'Infraworld', a game previormtucancelled in the early stages of development at Heavy Rain studio Quantic Dream. The trademark movement has naturally led to speculation the developer could've resurrected the project, which hardcore Heavy Rain players will remember appeared as an Easter Egg in the excellent PS3 thriller (check it out in this video.Heavy Rain auteur David Cage previously confirmed to CVG that Quantic Dream is beavering away on two "very different" projects - and when they're finished, he's going to turn his attention to shaking up the shooter category."I want to create a genre," he said. "I want to convince more people that [emotional gaming] is a valid direction for the industry; to show them that this was not just one product, one story. It's a format that can be used to tell any kind of story in any genre with any tone."He added: "I would really like the opportunity to work on a different type of game. I would love to see if what we discovered could be applied to a first-person shooter, for example." Andy Robinson

Basketdudes Online BBall Meets RPG

By Remko Molenaar (Proxzor), OnRPG journalist In Basketdudes Online you are in charge of a basketball team with which you can compete against other players and accumulate points. As you progress, your players will level up; improving their performance, and new players and items to equip your team with will be available. As each player develops and levels up, his skills improve and you can personalize him to make him unique from all of the other players. Also you have the option of equipping them with a wide variety of items to strengthen their strongest features or compensate their weakest one. When you start up the game and log in it is time to create your team! You have the choice between different teams with all sorts of abilities. These abilities are important throughout the game so pick the best suitable choice with your desired gameplay. After you have chosen your team you can design your own jersey. You can design 2 sets of jerseys so you don’t have trouble playing a person with the same color shirts. After you have designed your jerseys you are able to pick an emblem for your team. There is a wide variety of choices to pick from, all the designs are well made and are all looking very cool. I chose for a Mexican cactus that plays the guitar. From 1930 and even from the beginning of official competitive basketball, many players came not only from each club’s player pool, but also from various different traditional schools that were specialized in the arts of bball. The original three schools: Kiev school, Saber school and the Vonkann Schule were the precursors. Each of these schools had its particular methodology. Later with the development of university basketball, they moved on to specializing in specific training for the WBC Championship. These championships required special skills from the players. Now they call themselves official schools of the WBC. Since then various new schools have joined the original three. Each one has a unique playing style and focuses on different tactics, offenses and jukes.American School: The American School focuses mainly on the showmanship of basketball and it has produced some of the most high profile and most loved players.Asia United: The AUBC (Asia United Basketball Clubs) is possibly the strongest of all the schools, because it combines very methodical tactics that value offense and defense equally.Kiev School: The Kiev school is characterized by its defensive style, which some call the wall. Its training method is based on intense physical work so intense it has no comparison. It gives the player a high-performing, rock-solid physique greatly valued for centers.Saber School: This school is definitely oriented towards offense, basing its style on speed and precision shooting. Its facilities in San Lorenzo claim to have the most powerful explosive sprint training in the world today.Urban United School: The Urban United School came to be as a result of basketball’s popularity expanding faster than schools could house potential players. They all had great potential but missed the characteristics that adapted to the various schools. As a result these players are rough edged and wild but often lacking in the fundamentals.Vonkann Schule: The Vonkann players are skillful and give the team a vision of the game that is hard to improve, offering the team strategic possibilities of the highest level. The controls in this game are quite easy and really feel smooth. To move the current character you have to use the arrow keys along with the WSD keys to do different actions. These keys do different actions depending on thrmteuation; if you are attacking you will pass, shoot and sprint. When you are defending you will steal, block and sprint. Like in every basketball game there are breaks. In these breaks you can change players to let them rest on the bench. The players that are playing can get tired. This reduces their energy and their performance. The players that are tired can miss important shots and are slower in running then before. Fatigue can be an important factor in the game that will help you win or lose various situations. So keep an eye on your players and treat them with care. This is a very beneficial system as it prevents the issues of oldschool bball games where you would only ever pick the two or three best players on your team and ignore the rest. Now the entire team must pull their weight. After a game concludes the characters that participated in the played match will attain experience that will help them level up and acquire more abilities and statistics. You will also earn some cash used to purchase new items and players. You will also acquire various kinds of cards; these items will help you throughout the game to make the chance of winning the game even bigger. Your true test as a coach is knowing when to use which cards to utilize their full benefits. If you want to look up every player’s statistics of how well they are playing you are able to look up the statistics in the team tab. You are also able to see your lineup and trophies in this window. The graphics in this game a rather good looking and have a nice cartoonish style. To play this game you need a DirectX 9.0x compatible video card. Most likely everyone with a computer is able to play this game; the requirements are not that high and you must have an ancient computer made out of bricks if you can’t play this game with a proper frame rate.In the shop you can purchase all sorts of players with different stats, with some players priced higher than others due to their inherent skill. These players are all from different schools, each school is specialized in different training methods so think twice before purchasing a new player. You can also buy all kinds of clothing for your uniform, such as new shoes, armbands, and tattoos. There aren’t any other items you can buy for your uniform unfortunately and I hope they expand the shop with multiple different clothing styles. You can also stock up on cards before especially intense matches to swing the game ever so slightly in your favor.Basketdudes is a fun basketball game to play, the gameplay seems refined and near flawless and there are different servers to make the game playable for everyone with a proper ping. There are also various tournaments to play and win trophies for which makes this game a nice challenge. Unfortunately the community is not that big and could use more players. This game is still in open beta and I hope they will add more items to the shop to customize your character and team to make them seem more unique. Overall the game is a really fun game to play and I would recommend every basketball fan to try this game.

GameCube lessons drove 3DS price cut - Iw

Nintendo boss Satoru Iwata has said that the company made the decision to cut the price of the Nintendo 3DS after reflecting on lessons it learned from the GameCube.Judging from last week's surprising 3DS price announcement, we're guessing the lesson is: if people aren't buying it, do something quickly.According to Iwata, the decision to cut price was agreed upon by the company's entire management. He went on to say that, given the runaway success of the Wii and DS, the company's financial position facilitated the price drop, Andriasang reports. Nintendo's shares nosedived following the publication of the firm's first quarter financial results last rmtw dropping 12.2 percent Friday having earlier hit a six-year low.Iwata later revealed he will be taking a 50 percent pay cut after saying he felt "heavily responsible" for disappointing early 3DS sales.

Someone at Nintendo of America has fat fingers, it seems. The platform holder plans to release 10 free NES games to 3DS Ambassadors tomorrow via the eShop, but US users can download them right now and cackle as they BEAT THE SYSTEM. Update: It seems the games are only available early on the US eShop. UK users have informed us the games aren't present on the EU eShop (Note: This editor now lives in US). Update ends.Go into the eShop and scroll all the way to the left. Click on 'Settings / Other'. Scroll down on that list and click on 'Your Downloads' to see your download history.Scroll past all the downloads you've made since you got your 3DS and you will see the 10 free NES games sitting right there, with a giant 'Redownload' button just begging to be pressed. And that's it - the 10 free NES games are yours and any plans to sleep tonight are cancelled. You'll also find an 'Ambassador Certificate' download whrmtiou should grab, too. It's just a video app with a Notification element that will keep you updated on when the other 10 games - GBA titles - will be available to you. Run it and hit the 'Receive Notifications' button on the lower screen. We've just done it the crafty way, everything works perfectly and there are no Nintendo helicopters outside our windows, so go for it. Mike Jackson

Sword 2 Interview A Hybrid Game

Sword 2 Interview: A Hybrid GameQuestions by Tully Ackland, OnRPG JournalistAnswered by Myra Widodo, Associate ProducerOnRPG: Firstly, congratulations on your recent launch and thank you for taking the time to answer a few questions, could you start by giving those who might not be familiar to the game a run down what Sword 2 is?Sword 2 is our MMORTS/MMORPG hybrid title. The game's RTS/RPG features, Political PvP System, and beautiful graphics set it apart from other titles within the MMO and Free2Play markets. If someone were to ask me what the point of this game is, I would boil it down to the following; exploring the New World, uniting with your friends, and dominating control over the New World.OnRPG: Sword 2 isn't entirely a sequel to Sword of the New World; could you describe what sets them apart? We have completely revamped the first 20 levels and changed the new user experience. Previously, we had you start your journey on a boat sailing for the New World. For Sword 2, you are left shipwrecked and have to gather your basic armor and weapons. There is a "Tutorial Help" window that informs you where you are, what resources are available to you in that location, or what you can do. We've made it really easy for new players to get through the general tutorial and learn how to play the game so they can get to the real meat of it. In the end, after completing the tutorial players get awarded with a pet. Pets are an added benefit to players as most pets offer some enhancement of game play - whether that benefit be buffing or looting. Some of the major improvements we have made to the UI include a more robust Zone Map. We make it really clear where NPCs with available quests are located and we have a "Move" feature within the Zone map which will allow you to quickly move to an area or character of interest. We also now list all NPCs in an area on your map for easy reference. We've added a new friend summoning feature that allows players to summon their friends and clan mates to their location from anywhere in the New World. This really makes it easy to get around without a lot of hassle. Players can start instances and raids very quickly instead of having to run everywhere. We've revamped our entire leveling process to include more low level instances. Additionally, we've adjusted our raiding system to use instances as well. We still have open world raids (where clans fight for control over certain bosses) but now the majority of raiding happens in a private instance. In all we've added 4 new raid instances. We've added a lot of new content including new costumes, stances (special set of skills that players develop for their characters), weapons, armor and more. Character face customizations, mailbox system where you can message letters to other players, and improved Secret Guard System are some of the other changes.Secret Guard System is an in-game feature that allows advanced players to pair up with beginner players and have both parties benefit from playing together up until the beginner players have reached level 15. Players can chat with each other prior to committing, so they may avoid any "bad roommate" situations. That isn't even the tip of the iceberg; there are about 30 pages of changes. The only things we didn't change was the core of the game. You control 3 characters and fight for ownership of the New World.OnRPG: What drove the idea to revamp the first 20 levels of the game instead of laterally continuing the end game? Our goal with the revamp of the first 20 levels of the game were focused mainly on allowing new players to grasp the basics of the game quickly to expedite getting them to the meat of the game - which includes high level instances, raids, Faction Wars, and Elections. In this respect, we didn't exactly compromise working on laterally continuing the end game. We are ingraining new players with the end game in fact.OnRPG: The game features RPG strategy elements, the feature of controlling up to three characters at a time is a huge selling point for Sword 2, so could you tell us what advantages this gives the player? The Multi-Character Control mechanic where players can control and develop up to 3 characters at the same time reinforces the RTS aspect of the game more so than the RPG aspect. Since different characters have different skill sets, players can create a multitude of combinations out of those 3 characters to do different things. One big thing we never really liked about other games was the requirement that players had to find another player that was a healer or a tank to succeed. In Sword 2 everyone has a tank and a healer. But with the ability to create up to 63 characters players can create a balanced 3 person "team" with a Tank, Damage Dealer and a Healer or they can be a focused team of 3 Healers or 3 Damage Dealers or even 3 Tanks or any combination thereof. It adds a real level of detail to PvP and PvE game play that you won't find in any other game. One advantage the Multi-Character Control mechanic gives players, in the RPG aspect, is that it maximizes their time in developing their characters. Players do not have to grind to level and develop one character at a time because they are able to play with up to 3 characters at the same time. As mentioned earlier players also get a variety of the type of characters they want to experience playing with. They don't have to commit to choosing a specific Class and then find out half way to max level that they prefer another Class.OnRPG: Political Player vs Player is another major feature for Sword 2, could you give those unfamiliar a brief explanation as to what it is?Political PvP is definitely a huge selling point because ultimately ruling the New World is the end game. I would go as far to say that this is even more significant than the Multi-Character Control. Political PvP comes down to two major features - Elections and Faction Wars. Players can run for office and lead one of two Factions - the Republicans or the Royalists. While all players can vote for elected Faction Leaders, only Clans (a group of Families) can ally themselves to a Faction and only Clan leaders can run for office. When a Clan leader joins a Faction, all players in that Clan are immediately apart of the selected Faction. The elected leader of the Royalist Faction is called the Duke and the elected leader of the Republican Faction is called the President. In Faction Wars, individual clans fight to obtain and retain Colonies located all around the New World. At the end of Faction Wars, the Faction with the most Colonies is named the Dominate Faction. The "Dominate Faction" gets a large payment of in-game currency at the end of every month paid directly to the Faction's elected Leader. That Faction leader of the Dominate Faction, (be it the Duke or the President), will become the Premier. It is expected for the Premiere to divide the winnings out to all players in the Faction. However, there is nothing stopping them from keeping them, so it's extremely important to pick a leader you trust!OnRPG: What major features have players got their hands on recently after you just unleashed the last huge patch? The instanced raids are a big deal in terms of the new content we released. As mentioned earlier, we've adjusted our raiding system to use instances as well so now the majority of raiding happens in a private instance. This solves the problems of kill stealing and boss camping which are prevalent in many other MMOs. So certain areas in game don't become overcrowded with different parties all fighting for the same goal. As many of us know it stink to have kills taken away from you after you've spent all the time and effort.OnRPG: Sword 2 is developed in Korea, have you made any choices to Westernize the title?Sword 2 was in developed in Korea, by IMC Games. Hakkyu Kim, the famed creator of Ragnarok Online, is the lead designer of the game and was inspired to create the Sword 2 universe after visiting several countries in Europe and learning about the history wrmthcarried over to the Americas. In one sense, the content of the game is Western as it was inspired by Western History.Upon seeing the game, this inspiration is apparent in the design of diverse environments and ornate details of in-game items and costumes. Using Europe and colonial America for the world design, allowed Hakkyu Kim's art team the leisure to survey some of the most iconic sights in North America and incorporate them into the game. From a re-creation of the Grand Canyon to the frozen Canadian tundra, players will discover and experience breath-taking environments. In terms of the deliberate choices we have made to Westernize the game, most of it falls within translations of texts and community run events and contests. While we try to user more colloquial terms when translating dialogue of NPCs or descriptions for items, we still maintain the style of language that matches the world of Sword 2. Often times when we come up with ideas for promotions or events we'll make certain cultural references that could otherwise be considered Western. For example, we had a Lolcats Weekend event a couple weeks back that many of the players from our markets enjoyed.OnRPG: Sword 2 is back on retail store shelves, what drove this decision instead of opting for what much of the competition is doing with digital distribution?Sword 2 is actually not back in the retail stores yet. We are working out some plans for that so I would say just keep your eye out in the near future. We do a lot of digital distribution mainly because that's what our market has kind of pushed us to go that route. Especially, with Free2Play there is a lot of opportunities with digital distribution. Those opportunities are included in some of the "pros" for digital distribution, however, some of the "cons" include certain regions having bandwidth limitations or slower connections.Overall, our idea behind a future retail box is based off of what our players want. Our game is Free2Play, so the purpose of a retail box isn't so much selling the game client. With retail boxes we would sell rare packages of items, in-game currency, and exclusive digital content. There's something that players still enjoy about going to a physical store, picking up a box and game guide that you can hold in your hand. It is especially enjoyable when on top of holding that box in your hand you get items and content that you can't get any other way.OnRPG: Your next expansion Revelations is coming this fall; can you tell us what players can expect to see in this?Actually, we have decided that instead of releasing two expansions - Revelations and Renaissance - we are combining two expansions and releasing one MEGA expansion!Usually, with any expansion we'll have new items available for players in the in-game Bazaar. That may include costumes, weapons, etc. The two major things that we think our players are going to go crazy for are the new Unique Playing Characters and our World-Cross PvP Arena. For Sword 2: Renaissance, we will have three new characters - Sorceress Emilia, Catherine Torche, and Asoka. Sorceress Emilia has been seen in many of the associated imagery we have released with Sword 2's launch. For example, at E3 Los Angeles we decided to have a larger-than life-size wall panel at our booth. I know players will be excited about Catherine Torche and Asoka. I personally love the design of Asoka and can't wait for her to be in game! Now the World-Cross PvP Arena is the other major gem players will get with Renaissance. This feature will allow players from different worlds to play each other. Currently, players can only play with other players on their particular world, so now we have opened up doors to the community even further.OnRPG: Can you tell us your timeline for the future regarding content? As we mentioned with Renaissance, we are looking towards releasing this expansion this Fall. We also have a web browser game that should be coming out around that time frame as well.OnRPG: You have a Flash browser based game coming out for Sword 2 "in the near future" can you tell us what this is about? Our web browser game we created for additional content for our community. The game gives players the opportunity to win some crazy in game items, and it gives us an opportunity to create some crazy promotions and events with this added content. To give you a general overview, the web game highlights and emulates Colony Wars, a major aspect of Sword 2. We're starting off with releasing a variety of two types of mini-games. One is a memory card game and the other is a jigsaw puzzle. Both games are timed so players must complete the mini-games within that allotted time. Players with the highest scores for those games will have their name appear in the leader board. Now the leader board is where we got a little creative and tried to emulate the meat of the game. The leader board is designed similar to the in-game World Map for Sword 2. There are seven Colonies highlighted on the leader board. Each of those seven Colonies has some mini-games associated with them. If a player obtains the highest score for a particular Colony their name will appear over that city on the map. This is similar to how in Sword 2, when Clans take control over a certain Colony the Clan name will appear on the map. High Scores will get more substantial prizes for having their name appear on the map. However, if players don't just have to have the highest score in order to win prizes. If they successfully complete or beat a mini-game they get a prize. There is also a spinning Level Selector in the web game that directs players to the mini-games associated with one of the seven Colonies. On that spinning Level Selector there is also a chance to win prizes.OnRPG: Thank you very much for your time, would you run us out with a brief summary of what you believe makes Sword 2 great?First thing that comes to mind would be that it's Free2Play. Having the freedom to try something without having to commit to a subscription of said amount of days (unless you really want to), has always been appealing for our player base and it's the reason why our games are Free2Play. Secondly, but more importantly I think that the world and lore behind it is great. The struggle for power and the lore behind it is one of the major aspects of the game that attracted me to produce Sword 2 in the first place. Here you have a long standing history of various Nations from the "Old World" battling over power. That struggle for power, the politics, the drama, and the characters involved in that drama - all of those things carry over to the New World. As a pioneer sent to the New World, you are caught in the middle of all of this!Within the game lore, we have two major Factions - Royalists (those loyal to the Queen and fighting to preserve their power) and Republicans (those fighting against the old establishment and trying to gain their own freedom.) Many of the characters you meet throughout the game and many of the quests you will complete slowly reveal some of the stories, mysteries, and conflicts existing in the New World.Often times, in video games we find the "story" to be somewhat lacking because there is a focus on game mechanics. I feel with Sword 2, that the story has not been compromised. There is a good balance between game-play and immersing the players into the world of Sword 2.

WARHAMMER online: Age of Reckoning was coined as"the next generation MMORPG" by its creators and launchedrmt eptember 18th to be precise, to the waiting arms of a huge number of fans. Just a few weeks before the launch, the open beta began with a staggering number of beta applications toping at over a million. I was lucky enough to participate in both the closed, open beta, and headstart live launch to get a better feel for this highly anticipated game. As a solid MMORPG player, I was excited to check it out and see what all the fuss was about.

General
In general, the game feels and looks great, even did in its beta form. However, I had thought that when the live "headstart" servers opened it would be patched and some of the obvious bugs in the beta would be patched. But, to my surprise there was no patch for the US servers at launch. However EU servers got an initial patch. I imagined it would only get better when the final patches were rermtld and the game itself went live but that didn't happen.

In the time I've played the game I had a great experience with races and classes (known as careers) in the game. It was surprising how many races and careers there are in the game, making me wonder how it will effect the character balancing in later levels. But more to that later. The general style of the game looks realistic, and not cartoony for the most part. This was a welcchange to my experience in other MMOs of late. The art style is something that immediately caught my attention, much more dark and what you'd expect from Warhammer.

Graphics
There are some items ofe that I originally thought were beta / early start bugs, but in the end where not. May things don't work properly in the graphics, including spell effects. For example, some party casts on you are not shown on your own character. I was able to see this by playing in a party with someone which I was sitting side-by-side in real life. I was able to see that as a healer, my heals where not showing on the tanks screen on his character. Settings for "show party spell effects" were set to - all - so either this is how it is supposed to be or its still buggy. Guess we'll see in the future, but it is extremely frustrating for my tank to not know he's getting heals. As far as far off terrain is visibly of very low graphic quality, I am still hoping this is something that they fix with a patch in the future.

Interface
Ever wondered what would happen if your favorite addons from other MMORPGs were automatically built-into the release of a "next generation" MMO? Well WARHAMMER ONLINE would be it. It has some fantastic UI features including the ability to fully customize the layout, how it funtions, how it looks, and so forth - completely putting you in charge of your screen layout. The editor is extremely intuative and easy to use and I was able to customize in a matter of a minute. Other interface features I enjoyed were some of the quest tools, while at the same time some of these exact same tools seemed to make the game simply too easy. Those who are still unhappy with the current addons can l grab some additional addons online and try them out.

Gameplay
The gameplay is not rocket science and ground breaking compared to other top MMOs, its a fair amount of grinding to level and I noticed that its very hard to level past 2ust seems to take forever. I played primarily healers in my testing, but even healing classes are interestingly able to do considerable damage too. Its a bit of a different game mechanic then but one that is also fun.

But what else? There's a lot more to talk about and divulge from my testing but you'll have to wait until Part 2 comes :) Some teasers.. Part 2 includes RVR and PVP, Siege, Chickens, and Careers! So keep on the lookout nexek.

The Wulfram Experience

Wulfram is truely a unique game, urmtn any other game on the internet. It has a 10 year history and still going strong. Wulfram has training a server with LIVE trainers, who are also apart of the playing community, that help you learn the basics of the game, and only this part is level based. Even still its not a level based game, you have the ability from the begining to be as skilled as you can be without meeting level requirements to be able to do certain things. These skills will build over time as there is one heck of a learning curve. You'll find that there are subtle nueances that won't be aparent right away, but as you play you will find them and become a part of the Wulfram elite (that's right i didn't say l337). Wulfram also has a very close community, who perpetuate a clean friendly gaming environment.
WARNING: Wulfram II can be very addictive, it's definately for the serious gamer, and the occasional gamer as well. I could go on for hours talking about Wulfram, but i think it would be better to find out for yourself. Go ahead give it a try. Just Dance 3 Kinect trailer ditches contr

We always thought it a bit silly to flair armtlur limbs around in Just Dance when it's only actually detecting what the Wii Remote is doing. But Just Dance 3 will be different. We'll still feel like plonkers playing a dancing game made for girls and grandmas, but at least this one - having been confirmed for Xbox 360 - will track our entire bodies via the all-seeing eye of Kinect. This trailer shows off how the game looks and works on MS' motion-sensing peripheral. Just Dance 3 is the first game in the series to go multiplatform following the first two Wii-exclusives, and will use Move on PS3 and Kinect on Xbox 360. It's out on October 11.

Metropolis Now - Final Crisis The Future

Many may say that the colours are restricted to avoid slowdown. But if games running on ten year old engines can handle irmttu know who you are! Then surely this brand new release can handle a little extra colour?。

The success is down to them having delivered a solid, easy to grasp and entertaining product.。

All in all, DC Universe Online is a game with great potential. Sony are aware of the issues in the game and have been rolling out the fixes from Day One, they need to resolve the outstanding issues in the game and not get distracted by producing too much new content. That said, the monthly ‘Issues' of missions and gear may just be rmteh to keep the naysayers quiet and subscribing. Regular content updates should keep players in the game and I really think that the sun could be shining over the glimmering spires of Metropolis for many years to come.。

Power effects are also sadly restricted to a default colour. Green flames? No. Black Ice? Fraid not. All sorcery is red and all mental constructs are purple. Giving us an option for our powers effects to change colour would have added a nice touf individuality to the identikit power users in game.。

I see a lot of chat ingame from people lamenting that they will hav roll another character as they didn't realise that their powers were locked in to the character. You can respec your abilities, but your powerset and thus role are unchangeable. Coming from games with dozens of classes to a game with essentially six may also have an adverse effect on the ‘Pro' MMOers out there.。

30 days on from the launch of DC Universe Onland things are looking good. Sony Online Entertainment has its fastest selling game of all time and the populations on both PC and PlayStation3 are booming.。

- The Community-I have had nothing but good experiences with the online community. It is nice to play with people that seem to want to play rather than spend their time complaining about the state of the game. Overall attitude of players rd the game is positive.。

Bright Shadow Review

With the game taking the cute route, I think it's safe to assume that you will probably expect pop music to play all throughout the game. Well, you are right and wrong with that assumption. Yes, you hear pop like music as you play the game, but, it's not the poprmt of music you'd expect.。

Bright Shadow is a 3D MMORPrmtGm GamepotUSA. The game mixes a familiar game system and cutesy anime graphics to create an addicting online game.。

Soul Points

The Umbra guide works like a card holder for the monster cards you get to acquire in Bright Shadow. Monster cards in Bright Shadow can be used as buffs or you can trade them fotter items on selected NPCs. You can also summon monsters from the cards, however it seems that system has yet to be implemented with Bright Shadow so the card's full potential is still locked tight.。

Cons:
- The game has yet to unlock a lot of the game systems
- You have only PvEs and questing as ways to earn experience
- May be too cute for some people.。

 。

Bright Shadow has incorporated a burst system that helps you in your adventures. You basically earn burst points, which you can save up to 5. Burst points serve as a unique drop whenever you successfully kill a monster. The points look like purple orbs on an enemy carcasses. Once you get the max burst point your character is then super buffed for about a minute. It may not be a long buff but you'd realize ou continue on playing Bright Shadow having burst points can mean life or death for your character.。

 。

 。

Soul Unlock。

 。

 。

The computation of what bonus you get is fairly simple to understand. It's linked to how many points you allocate on a stat. The game's bonus puts emphasis on the player's stat allocation. You only have limited space for the bonuses so you need to have a firm gri the stats you need to allocate.。

 。

 。

As mentioned, the game uses a familiar game system, which is found in most MMORPGs out there. You have the linear leveling system where your options of gaining experience is either though doing quests or grinding. The game also uses a stat based leveling syswhere you get to choose where to allocate stat points that you earn every level up. However, there is an added system in Bright Shadow's leveling which I will explain in detail later on.。

 。

 。

As I mentioned earlier, there's an innovative game system that Bright Shadow has incorporated into the leveling system. The game calls it the Soul Unlock. It's a character stat bonus system where you will get bonuses rangingm attack to defense and even weight capacity. You get these stat bonuses when you allocate your stat points in the various general stats in your character screen.。

Morphed into a monster

 。

Character screens

You can't deny that the game really banks on the cuteness factor because aside from the characters, everything feels colorful and, innocent. The game's cuts really works well with however you still need to get used to a character with long arms and legs whacking monsters. Personally, it took me a while to accept it.。

 。

Like many other eastern-based MMOs, Bright Shadow takes a lot of its game interface and graphics from anime-like designs. However it uses freakishly long arms and legs instead of the usual ter designed characters used by majority of the cute MMORPGs.。

 。

Pros:
- Umbra Guide keeps you grounded on other things aside from PvE and Questing
- A refreshing take on the anime-ish cutesy MMORPGs
- Adds to the usual leveling system the game.。

 。

 。

 。

 。

 。

Umbra Guide

 。

All in all I think Bright Shadow has a lot of potential as a MMORPG. However, the game has yet to show its true potential because right now I'm seeing a skeleton of the game rather than something complete. I like the idea that players will have something to look forward to because for sure there will be more feature updates in the succeeding patches. It also works the other way becauseot of players may be turned off with the game because it's not yet complete.。

Bright Shadow Review: The Future is Bright on This One
By Vincent Haoson (Vincenthaoson), OnRPG Journalist。

 。

 。

 Umbra Guide。

The game's BGM varies in every map you get into. It adjusts to the atmosphere the map seems to be projecting. What I like about the game's BGM is that you never get tired of hearing it, even after playing the game for a long time. The music variation is good and it's never too loud.。

 。

A mineature that I liked in Bright Shadow is the speech balloons that pop up while you play the game. These speech balloons come from monsters and NPCs. They vary from monsters cursing you and humanity for killing them or random ramblings of NPCs. I also find the speech balloons funny because of the grammatically incorrect statements from the NPCs. Though I think this is mainly due to the translation the game has gone through but it's not really a serious problem.。

Bright Shadow currently has a myriad of minor features that can make your gaming experience pleable. This includes the skill system the game has. It's unique because it lets you "forget" skills if you deem It necessary. Also, the points you use in learning skills is earned through getting "reiki" or the bubble like glowing stuff whenever you kill a monster. This is then converted to SP which serves to either provide you with points to learn or use your skills.。

Bright Shadow has yet to show us what in provide and I'm really looking forward to seeing the game grow into a complete MMO.。

Another game system in Bright Shadow to look forward tothe Umbra guide. According to the game documentation, the Umbra guide serves as the "princesses", the celestial beings that once protected humanity and helped the humans protect themselves from the monsters, or Umbras.。

 。

 。

Bright Shadow has your typical PvE game system setup. I'm not sure if the game will include a PvP system later on, but currently there is none included in the game. You'll havur hands full just by doing the game's numerous quest but once you've reached the level cap you have nothing to really make you keep on playing except for the episode updates.。

 。

Speaking of episode updates. The game released its episode 1 on February 8, 2010. The update gave way to new job classes, new maps and an increalevel cap. I don't have word yet when the next update is but I'm sure that you'll have your hands full trying to get to the level cap.。

Burst Point。

Another cute feature in Bright Shadow is that you can morph into monsters if you have the skill learned. The monsters vary as you progress through the game and it's really fun to see your charactecome a big monster that you get to control.

Allods Online Review It's not WoW

Interface at the inside of a Ship

 。

The job system in Allods is similar to a lot of MMORPGs out there. There are no faction exclusive jobs in Allods. The job class' names may be different but the classes have a corresponding "alternate" job in the opposite faction.。rmt

 。

 。

 。

Another unique system in Allods Online is that there is a stat allocation system. Unlike other MMORPGs of this calibre, you can allocate stat points. The levelling system in Allods is similar to a lot of stat based MMORrmtPut there. It means that you get stat points whenever your character levels. There is still a job and class locked growth system in Allods but with the stat system in place, you can actually customize and create your own build. I personally think that the Allods game system is a refreshing take on character development. People who are used to mages always hitting and nuking inform the sidelines are forced to rethink their strategy in Allods.。

Allods is a grinding, story-driven MM. Your main way of levelling in Allods is through the quests, which NPCs will provide for you. Grinding alone will take a while because the quests provide more experience points. I think this levelling system really forces you to do the quests. A lot of players who are used to grinding will find it unacceptable that you are relying on quests to level up. Though I think this works well for Allods because it emphasizes that the game is story driven. However, relying heavily on quests in Allods may in fact be bad in the long run. Repetitive questing can take a toll on players and can eventually make them quit the game.。

I cannot deny the similarities that Allods has with World of Warcraft. However, I was very surprised that the game did not follow with a cinematic opening. Onou create your character (belonging to either the League or the Imperial side) you are immediately put into the middle of the action.  The game practically puts you right in the middle of the story, which is similar to Dungeons & Dragons Online. You actually get to see how the story develops. On the League side you actually witness a change in the environment when you are invaded by the enemy. In the Imperial side you are given a taste of what you will be experiencing and what it means to be part of a ship. I was really taken aback with what I saw in the game because you can only experience these things when you're playing a P2P MMORPG.。

 。

 。

 。

 。

 。

 。

Allods mages are not overpowered. Magic spells can actually miss in Allods. Though the spells still retain the magic attribute, it is not guaranteed that they will always hit. According to one player who I was able to talk to, he mage is a crit type. Anyone and everyone who has played a lot of MMOs would think that is weirowever, based on what I experienced with my summoner, I think that's a good way of allocating points.。

Playing Goblinoball

On board a flying ship

If you started the game with the Imperial faction, you've already experienced what a ship looks like. You eventually get to control your own Astral ship. Like in building real ships, owning one tatime and a lot of money. However the benefits of having a ship really outweighs the cons. You get to travel around and see the beautiful world of Allods. You can also experience ship-to-ship battles similar to what you experienced when you started with the Imperials. The Astral Ship experience doesn't stop with just the creation. Astral Ships need to be manned too. Similar to real ships you need to have a navigator, helmsman, engineer, repairmen and of course gunners. I haven't seen how this works in the real player perspective but as far as I can see this can work out especially if you have friends who can man those posts in your ship.。

 。

Character selection on the other hand reminded me of Neosteam. The Gibberlings were the Allod version of Neosteams furry Poms. Elves meanwhile, have wings. Yes, that's right, all elves in Allod have wings (nice going Allods team, another game that exemplifies the "feminine" nature of elves, male or female. Personally though I'm a Leasummoner so I'm really complaining). The game pushes the archetypical classifications of a lot of the races found in MMORPGs. However I personally don't think you will notice much because the character designs are so good.。

There have been a lot of MMOs lately that have taken the WoW interface and used it in their own MMORPG. Developers who havken this route have had hits and misses which ended in the labelling of their MMORPGs as mere "WoW Clones". Allods Online is a good example of such an MMO. You can see a lot of WoW elements incorporated to its interface and gameplay. However, what separates Allods Online from other half-baked MMORPGs is that it has managed to refine itself into an MMO that can get the attention of even a jaded gaming market.。

Personally, when I saw the game trailer and heard of the pertinent game features I wanted to jump the gun and play Allods. Now it seems that I was justified on hopingt I would get myself into a great game. I don't think Allods Online will ever topple WoW. However, Allods for sure will provide good competitive encouragement for MMO developers because there's a F2P of this calibre. I cannot say that Allods is a perfect MMO at the moment, because it's just in OBT. The game has a lot of potential and I'd be keeping my eye out for game updates in the future.。

Allods Characters

 。

 。

There are a lot of faction centric features in Allods Online. Most of them concentrate on faction vs. faction warfare. However there is one game system in Allods that doesn't consider a groups faction in segregating players. It's the official alternative for questing, PvE and PvP. It's Goblinball. The objective of the game is to kick the goblin that serves as the ball into the enemy's goal. Similar to soccer your task is to defend your goal while scoring. Goblinball n enjoyable sport/mini-game to play. It successfully gives players another thing to look forward to aside from the daily grind.
